Happy new year boys, hope everyone got what they wanted from Santa. Aright so now that the family is gone back to my project. I pulled my intake which I feel I do way to often lol ,and it is always oil soaked so I started searching on ls1tech/google catch cans holy moly their are a lot of opinions, Im currently NA but will be going turbo at some point this year. I just want least amount of oil in my intake and a simple solution thats not $200 I feel that money could be better spent. maybe im Wrong .
1-what are you guy running, sealed or vented/where did ya get? 2-after Catch can install how much cleaner is your intake now? 3-which one did you use and how many miles are on your current set up?
Thanks guys , now im off to my attic to finish the ducting for our heater......WoooooHooooo!
Truckdoug so as I understand you have a breather on the passenger side valve cover and on the drivers side it goes to a can with filter on top that has a check valve inline that goes to the intake . how is it drawing a vacuum to the dirty side if the can is vented? im a bit confused.
63rambler, thanks if I am unable to figure this out I will probably try your method
you have the routing right, but the can itself is not vented. it only has a two ports, one a check valve (open to manifold vacuum & closed to boost) and the other the "feed" from the driver side rear valve cover.
it's basically the stock PCV system, but with a catch can in line with the manifold vacuum source.
let me know if you need more info i've been meaning to make a youtube video about it.
