I tried posting a question on the book face page but I think I got shot down. You guys are some of the best grassroots tuners I know so I came here to ask a few questions.
I have a boosted Saturn station wagon, built as sloppy and as cheap as I could, and I'm tuning it. The llo (Saturn's engine code for the dohc 1.9l) has terrible valve train noise. Chain driven flat tappet ohc. So above 3000 it is near impossible to listen for knock.
I know before knock sensors and efi the "ancients" used to read plugs. Do any of you guys still do that? I know it can tell you a lot about what's going on in the engine. But it seems like a lost art.
